ManaSyst, Inc. is a private corporation based in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded in 1987, ManaSyst has evolved over the years into a technology company that offers its customers services based on various related technologies. Bruce Franklin, the owner of ManaSyst is the driving force in the company. Bruce’s experience in information systems began in 1970. His career has given him a working view of both large and middle sized corporate America and has taught him how to apply technology in a useful manner. He has participated in many "firsts" in the computer industry; written books about the computer industry; has been a speaker at national conventions and participated in national standard setting organizations.
Starting in 1990 Bruce participated as a consultant for some of the largest document capture projects in the world. Working with Flour Daniel, Mobile Oil Technology and InterGraph, he engineered the technology and the staffing for entire departments that would capture in excess of ten million pages of large and small documents used for the operation of oil refineries. Later he built systems and staffed departments for First Union (now known as Wachovia), the Gibralter Company, A. Duda & Sons, Florida East Coast Railway, the Borland Groover Clinic, Capital Partners, The City of Jacksonville’s General Council’s Offices, the St. Johns River Water Management District, the Jacksonville Electric Authority, the City of Winston-Salem North Carolina and many other organizations.
By 1996 having designed document capture systems to work with most document management software, ManaSyst designed and developed internet based document management software known today as Web.Dox™. At first ManaSyst sold Web.Dox™ in the classic “software package” manner. However a chance encounter with MediaOne in 1997 put ManaSyst into the service business. Having been unsuccessful at their attempts to perform imaging and document management, MediaOne asked ManaSyst to scan and manage their accounts payable documents and “as built” construction drawings.
ManaSyst built a data center and a scanning center with the capability to provide imaging and “web based” services to businesses in the Northeast Florida and Georgia coastal area.
In the year 2000 we moved our data center to the Peak-10 facility on Belfort Road in order to provide better security and redundancy for our customers. At that time we started our inControl Online service. inControl Online was started in order to host strategic web sites, e-mail and web based applications for commercial organizations. Today we manage servers in the Jacksonville and Atlanta data centers for many organizations in our area including the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, Idea Integration (a division of Modis), the Jacksonville Zoo, The Florida Forum, Auto-Nation, and the National Football League. As a service to our community we offer discounted web hosting services to many of the Jacksonville areas non-profit organizations including Volunteer Jacksonville, the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, Challenge Enterprises, Vision Is Priceless, We Give, the Non-Profit Center, and the Northeast Florida Family Nurturing Center.
Last year we signed a contract with Microsoft that gives us the ability to offer Microsoft software products to the public on a subscription basis. These software products are hosted on servers owned by ManaSyst. No longer do businesses have to make the capital acquisition of software and expensive server hardware. And, they gain the ability to use the products from anywhere in the world that an internet connection can be made with the security, redundancy and reliability of two world class data centers in Jacksonville and Atlanta.
Our most recent milestone was our move from the Louisville redundant data center to our Atlanta data center. All of our customers now have the opportunity to acquire geographic redundancy at a fraction of the cost that they would have to spend on their own. The level of performance we provide would be prohibitively expensive for many of our customers without our services.
